Why Tespit?

A second display – without modifications.

Instead of expensive retrofit solutions, Tespit uses the device you already carry with you.

No retrofit display

No installation, no cables, no changes to the vehicle – just install the app.

Your existing device

Your iPhone becomes a driver cockpit – in portrait or landscape, with HUD mode.

Local connection

Directly to the vehicle via Bluetooth Low Energy. No detour through third-party servers.

LIVE WHILE DRIVING

Everything moves with you.

Map, navigation and vehicle data update in real time inside the cockpit while you drive.

How Tespit works

Connected in three steps.

Tespit pairs directly with your vehicle – no Tesla login and no account.

Setup on iOS. The Android version is in its final development and testing phase.

01

1. Prepare the vehicle

Put the car in Park (P) and sit inside with your iPhone.

  • Vehicle is in Park (P)
  • Have the physical Tesla key card ready
  • The regular initial vehicle setup is complete
  • iPhone and vehicle in close proximity
02

2. Copy the VIN and add the vehicle

Open the official Tesla app, copy the 17-digit VIN and paste it into Tespit.

  • Open the official Tesla app
  • Go to the vehicle's 17-digit VIN and copy it
  • Paste the 17-digit VIN into Tespit
  • Tespit then looks for the matching vehicle locally over Bluetooth
03

3. Confirm the key

Confirm the new vehicle key inside the car using the physical key card.

  • Confirm the new vehicle key in the car
  • Use the physical key card at the designated position
  • Keep the iPhone near the vehicle during pairing
  • Tespit then uses the local encrypted vehicle connection

No Tesla login required in Tespit.

Pairing happens locally over Bluetooth Low Energy and only has to be done once per vehicle. Tespit uses neither your Tesla account nor a cloud server of its own for this.

Model S and Model X built before 2021 don't have the required Bluetooth interface and are not supported.

Pairing

Where does the key card go?

The NFC reader sits in a different spot depending on model and model year. Choose your vehicle and see the correct position.

Why do additional cockpits cost something?

Every cockpit is its own design and engineering project: layout, typography, animations, charging views and testing – until everything stays calm and readable at any speed.

Tespit is the project of a single independent developer – more than three months of intensive development work have already gone into the app, plus ongoing updates.
