More vehicle data. Directly from the vehicle.

Tespit is gradually extending its local vehicle connection with validated OBD and CAN data.

OBD

Where OBD development stands

Version 1.1.10 laid the groundwork for OBD and experimental vLinker live telemetry. The vLinker MS test device is currently the central test path; support for additional devices is being evaluated and expanded step by step.

Larger OBD improvements are currently expected to be targeted for version 1.1.12. The schedule and exact scope depend on hardware and vehicle testing.

Safety first: read-only to begin with

The planned first OBD phase is read-only. Tespit is not intended to send control commands to the vehicle. Features will only be considered supported after technical testing and validation.

Roadmap

From groundwork to live telemetry

Development is deliberately moving forward in small, verifiable steps.

Larger OBD expansion

The goal is to add live vehicle values such as km/h, energy and further measurements, subject to testing.

Möglichkeiten

What OBD is intended to make possible

Real-time km/h display

Speed should come directly from the OBD data stream once the signal, vehicle and adapter have been reliably validated.

Energy and power

Additional energy, power and consumption values are intended to complement the existing vehicle data.

More vehicle data

Further CAN and OBD values are being investigated. Availability depends on the vehicle model, adapter and bus.

OBD-Ausblick

What OBD may make possible in the future

These functions are being prepared, researched or validated. Actual availability depends on the vehicle, model year, adapter, CAN bus and firmware.

Vgate vLinker MS

Current test device: Vgate vLinker MS

The vLinker MS is currently my test device and the central experimental path for OBD live telemetry. At the same time, I am working to expand the functions to additional OBD devices.

iCar Pro, iCar Pro 2S, vLinker FD+, vLinker FS and vLinker MS are prepared on this page. Their individual feature coverage is being evaluated separately and is not promised across the board.
